Spring means walking through a wonderland of colors...

 

Nobody has lived in the oldest house in the area for 2 or 3 years-- But some of the flowers still make an appearance every year. These were especially good to see as the late afternoon sun caught them...

 

The end of the day, looking East over the wetlands...

 

Peacefully pastoral...

 

We're being watched by a wild rose...

 This is actually a shelf fungus-- They're quite common.  But my first thought was that Daffy Duck was caught in a tree.

Lots of showers on the new waterlily pads and other water plants in the wetlands...

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

 

They're always a joy to find in the forest-- Trillium!

 

So much color, even on the forest floor...

 

Sometimes you can stand where you've stood a hundred times before but suddenly see things for the first time...

 

There behind some trees, tulip bulbs planted in some forgotten time still come alive to makes us smile. Forgotten, but they're still there.

 

Hey--- what happened to Spring! Last night we were surprised by 3 inches of very wet snow. It's mostly gone now.

 

Recent fresh snow in the mountains... Lots more expected over the next few days. We may see a flake or two. Mt. Adams is the peak on the left in the distance. Mt. St. Helens, our hometown volcano, is center right.

Impossibly beautiful blossoms!

 

I don't know what kind of tree this is, but it dazzles us with its flowers!

 

More new leaves with some evergreen firs mixed in-- Next to the Cowlitz River...

 

Brand new light green leaves along the Cowlitz River! Spring!

Well it's not much, but something lives there. I don't think it was home at the time. Good thing.
