This bumblebee is the largest I've ever seen! At least the size of an American Half Dollar--tip to tip. We found him on Tygh Ridge Just south of the Columbia River. He was so non-threatening, I almost wanted to pet him. Almost.
They're HUGE over here, too. And cuter than cute....and friendly, or confused. I hold my breath when they fly in my face and wait for them to figure out I am NOT a flower. :-/
