The Mountain's Mouth...

Looking straight into the caldera of Mt. St. Helens, you can see the beginnings of the new mountain top-- the dome in the center.  This view is from a ridge nearly 2000 feet above the pumice plane below.

Wow! This is quite a view of this caldera. Several years ago we flew to seattle in our plane, and flew around the top of this.Hard to imagine the power of this explosion. Interesting that it is growing a new Dome.... oh and thanks for the anniversary wishes!
