Not far from yesterday's thresher-- this marvelous old house stood for nearly 140 years. The landowners continued to till and harvest around it for decades after it became unoccupied. And it became one of the most photographed abandoned houses in the Northwest. Unfortunately it was destroyed by a wildfire in 2018-- but our virtual trip to the dry side would be incomplete without it.

There are many abandoned, old homes around here and I drive past them and imagine the family that lived there once.

Una foto maravillosa, un paisaje extraordinario y una cas que, salvando las distancias, me ha recordado a la de psicosis

Beautiful. And so very sad. Fire is such a destroyer and I am glad that you captured this before it was razed.

Yes, I can see why this old house is much photographed. It is a stark reminder of the past with great texture.

Superbe photo. Et le vert de l'arbre qui contraste avec les beiges de la terre et du bois de la maison abandonnée dit que la vie est toujours là.
