Revisiting some favorite places #5-- This is the giant wooden grain elevator in the Oregon ghost town, Boyd. Once there were railroad tracks along the right side. On the left side, a small grist mill was once powered by a channel from the creek. The town was disincorporated nearly 70 years ago.

That is a humungous silo. Such a shame that the town that it served is gone.

Es bien alto, tiene un tamaño gigante. Esa buena vista nos descubre su hermoso puente.

Beautiful photograph of this old construction. In Mallorca, Spain, we have similar construccions but the difference is that ours are more little and are made of Stone, because here this is the usual material employed.

These old grain elevators were solidly built structures, so it is no surprise that it has survived all these decades. Sad the town is now long gone, but a great photo opportunity. Thanks for your comment today. Unfortunately I will not be benefiting from the new fiber optic line. Our town has two providers, and already hooked up on one, and not willing to switch. It will take a year for the lawn to recover.

I immediately have to think of film set... too bad that this small town cannot be breathed new life into.
