The old schoolhouse in the Goodnoe Hills of Eastern Washington State, just north of the Columbia River. It closed in 1962. For more than a half-century, kids of different ages and races were taught here. Their teacher drove the school bus, cooked their lunch, and made sure they learned their ABCs, Math, History, and how to get along with other kids.

I spent 9 years in one of these schools. I also remember driving through Washington with my parents and seeing this area.

Eso si que era una maestra todo terreno. Seguro que también se ocupaba de mantener limpia la escuela. Es una pena que al final todos estos edificios acaben derruidos por el paso del tiempo.

Ahora está abandonado, pero la gran labor de la maestra, debe de haber dado muy buenos frutos. Eso que además de la enseñanza, se ocupe además de conducir el autobús, es la primera vez que lo escucho.

Sometimes I wonder if the children weren't better off in the smaller schools. Whether or not, I sol love this photo.

Oh my, how wonderful to see that school building though somewhat in need of great care but I expect it will eventually fall to the ground.
