You have made me long for next spring and a trip to the gorge. But I worry about the permits now. I'd need an off time when they aren't required. Are they required everywhere along the old highway, at all the parking lots or just Multnomah Falls? Used to be I could just go, without planning or a permit first to park at a specific time. I don't know how one does that, time it to get there when the permit is good.
