High in the Goodnoe Hills of Washington State, not far from the Columbia River, this old house is one of the few reminders that there used to be a small town here--with a school, and even a store/hotel.

This is a striking photo! The muted, sepia-toned palette perfectly captures a sense of "fading history," making the house feel like a ghost of the frontier.

This poor old house is being reclaimed by nature. Even the tree looks dead and the sky is dark.

Windblown. Stark. Love this photo.
