A late-afternoon break in the clouds reveals fresh green on the volcanic mud flow.  Mt. St. Helens is hiding behind the clouds.

This little tree is full of moss--- waiting for spring to sprout its own leaves.

Winter colors...

Even in the winter, the moss mixes with the colors of the bare limbs to bring a splash of light to this part of the lake shore.
