Revisiting some favorite places #4-- The much loved and often photographed abandoned schoolhouse in Boyd, a ghost town in North Central Oregon.

Revisiting some favorite places #3. The Old Yellow House near Dufur Oregon, complete with a cow. I hope it stands for many more years.

Revisiting some favorite places #2-- A ramshackle cattle feeding station in the hills above the road.

I've decided to spend some time revisiting some favorite places, and some favorite times. A new look at what's there can really be surprising sometimes. Here's one from North-Central Oregon, looking North at Washinton's Mt. Adams.

The wetlands, waking up...

Looking into Mt. St. Helen's crater... It's been 43 years since the north face blew off.

The Osprey doesn't care that the sun is about to set. There's still time for a bit of fishing...

The Ancient Mariner taking a break on a tugboat named Jack Brusco...

The Japanese Garden in Longview's Lake Sacajawea City Park is a sensory overload in June!

The end of the county road...

Another path...

Not all dreams come when you are sleeping...

Are we there yet, Mom?

Last glow...

The Maestro says--- Alright you gulls, clean up those squawks, and DO try to keep together. And you sea lions! Those bass lines are important, but you can't keep coming in 3 bars early!! Now, once again...

Looking for mom

It always makes me wonder what's around that bend...

One last gift of the day...

The rabbit is out late---for a very important date.

She walked with us for a while but then decided it was time to head back to the water. Be safe, little one, and thanks for the company.

Oh all right, you can come too!

Come with me...

The crow, at home...

It's a beautiful afternoon in the woods next to the wetlands.

And as the sun is setting, Beauregard is coming over to say he hopes it won't be quite as warm tomorrow. Good night, Beauregard...

Hidden Treasures! Even the grass is as beautiful as the flowers!

The bashful waterlily isn't sure it's safe to come up out of the water yet...

The little house near Winlock, next to the double-tracked mainline...

Good morning!

The mountain is glowing, and venting a bit of steam at the base.

A wild rosebud!

Vote Smith! (From a few decades ago)

Flamboyant! There is no better word to describe the amazing wildflower called Indian Paintbrush than flamboyant!

We're being watched...

it was 43 years ago that our favorite mountain blew up. It made quite a mess. But it's still beautiful!

Swallows!

Beautiful leaves, and beautiful flowers-- Hostas are amazing!

In and amongst the big leaves of the water plants, it's Mrs. Redwing Blackbird.

With their 6-foot wingspan, seeing a Great Blue Heron in flight is always amazing. Seeing two of them as they're heading home just before dark is even more amazing.

Beautiful, but quite poisonous... Foxglove (Digitalis)

Hope rises...

A little bit of perfection on the forest floor...

Fly away...

The storm cell moves east-- away from us-- late in the afternoon. The air is clean, and our favorite tree is showing off its leaves.

There's just something about Foxglove (Digitalis) surrounded by ferns that proves that Mother Nature is a fabulous artist...
