He was born in 1937
He flew reconnaissance, he trained pilots
He carried passengers and corporation heads
He sprayed crops and put out fires
And he fit in the palm of your hand when you flew him around the living room

Looks like an old Beach 18. I flew in them many times.
Gorgeous image!
Terrific light on that Beach 18. There was one my flight instructor flew as I was getting my license. Always thought it a beautiful airplane.
Beautiful image and words.
I am now torn between the locos and this. She is a beautiful old lady.
Great shot and wondering who you are talking about? Lindbergh??
A beautiful plane, and I love your words. My father was an electrician on B-52s in the air force..I have always loved old planes.
I'm a pilot and love to find old planes. It's sad in today's world that kids can't walk around airports to see the planes and dream about a future in flying. - Margy
I like these old planes ! and I like this image
I agree with the other comments that the photo is great and the words are, too!
Great photos...cool comment!
This is just too cool.... :-) And I'm like the fella who felt torn between your plane and train photos. But for today, I'm going with this photo and those words. Though, I don't think I ever had one in the palm of my hand, himself did a scale model of one, go figure!
I do really like this post... the history and a beautiful image of this wonderful aircraft.
