This old abandoned farmhouse delighted us when we came upon it while traveling on the backroads in North-Central Oregon. It's gone now, burned to the ground just last Wednesday-- lost in a huge 80 thousand acre wildfire. The people who own the land had gone to great deal of effort to keep it as a memory of past hopes and dreams.

Oh that is so sad..... you just have to close your eyes to imagine how like was in that house a 100 years ago.
What a powerful image, and what a shame it's gone, but that in itself is another reminder of the fleetingness of time.

Oh, that is even sadder than it standing there all lonely. Just gone up in smoke. But what a photo....so glad you captured it before it was gone. I wonder if you are like me and feel compelled to photogragh things. There is not much I like better than finding a sight that has a lot of photographs from an area I know...or would like to know.
Oh, thank you for answering me about where these started...I can see I have missed so many great photos....the ones in this month alone. some earlier than these were breathtaking...I just know I don't dare start commenting on all!
