It looks like no teaching has gone on there for a long time.
Wonderful photo! Seems to me that these old schoolhouses should be preserved somehow. Once they're gone, they're gone... and not many of them left!

These do bring so many questions...but I love them nevertheless. How cold do the winters get out there is one thing that I wonder.
