The town of Goodnoe Hills was settled in the 1860s. There are just a few deserted buildings left. The windmill that was part of this old homestead looks like it is envious of its cousins on the hilltop. Note the plowed field in the background.
I agree with Pierre. And it's true it looks like a movie set. It could be in a wim wenders film. The contrast between wind mill and wind turbine is very striking. There is a kind of melancholy in this picture

A look at the past and the present.
Wonders Photo
Nice shot Bill. The alignment with the turbines in the background is perfect. Photographing abandon buildings is a favourite of mine.
For us from Europe, these landscapes seem actually incredible. Like in movies...
What a lonely sight...did you look inside?
This was once someone's home. Your picture fills me with imagining.
Hello Bill,
This is so nice. A great picture.
You have done this so well.
Greetings, Marco

Cuánto más estéticos esos viejos molinos de viento
I doubt that many (any?) of our modern homes will last nearly as well. Or as beautifully.
Look like a movie decor 😉
The "best before" date has already expired. Nice photo.
El pasado y el futuro están presentes y unidos en tu foto. Bien hecho. Abrazo
Una foto impresionante!!!!
Belleza de color y encuadre
Me fascino!!!
Saludos y abrazo en la distancia. Bonita semana
That's a nice scene, old and new..but those hills look fairly bare...cold I expect and of course windy.
Your photo shows the evolution of the windmill, and the building shows the failed dreams of a family.

Very beautiful picture with history
pity only on the modern wind works in the background

It's an amazing picture. The opposition between past and present is very striking. It could be a film set. A wim wenders movie for instance...
