Just across the road from the Eight Mile School is the Eight Mile Cemetery. It gets very little maintenance, but somehow I think there's always some of that same feeling of sunshine and belonging that seems to inhabit the school. There is no feeling of sadness here. Most of stones are from the 1800's.

I often find old cemeteries places of comfort. I am glad this one is for you.

I have seen cemeteries like this. It is sad sight when they get neglected.

Reading the old stones in a cemetery presents a whole range of emotion. These can be fascinating places with intimate slices of history.
