Although it's smaller than the "Prairie Schooners" that brought so many people west, this wagon is pretty much the same. Stays would be inserted in the brackets along the sides to hold a canvas cover.
Almost any time we go visit the kids that live an hour away, I think/wonder how many days that would have taken way back then. And I think we would probably have not made the trip even every year.

Early explorers were an intrepid lot.
Both witness and vestige of the conquest of the West, this modest cariole conjures up many images of a time that has been abolished.
Looks great. History :-D
Interesting. Look what we all missed out on!
This old farm wagon need a horse and off it would go. What a wonderful historic piece of farm equipment.
La de caminos que habrá recorrido y la de aventuras que podría contar
Nice photo Bill. This is something I would expect to see Gabby Hayes riding in. What can I say. I watched a lot of cowboy movies when I was kid.

Un recuerdo de un pasado no muy lejano.
Un abrazo y cuidate.
What a wonderful find and you have edited it beautifully Bill. Those days must have been VERY hard for people.
Un carro que ya ha cumplido con todas sus tareas y ahora descansa placidamente. Buenas texturas.
Abrazo
