The Julia Butler Hansen Bridge, opened in 1939 between Cathlamet and Puget Island on the Columbia River. Cathlamet was inhabited by 300-400 Native Americans when Lewis and Clark pitched their tents there as they were returning to the East in 1806.

Fine photo of this impressive bridge. The Columbia River is wide here, and I hope there is still an active salmon run.
