High in Washington's Goodnoe Hills, this is the abandoned two room schoolhouse where so many kids of different ages, different beliefs, and different backgrounds were free to learn together.

Magnifique. Immensité, solitude... Une première émotion, celle d'un enfant solitaire face à la somme d'apprentissage. Une deuxième, l'inquiétude une école abandonné comme un renoncement aux lumières...

Landscape like an impressionist painting. A two room school. These were once common in the U.S., but no longer. I attended a two room school for several years. It was not all good.

Hello Bill. I'm just catching up again. I always love your train images. What an incredible engine 1662, must be!
Regarding the wonderful isolated school image, I guess in its heyday the surrounding countryside would have been more populated.
