Revisiting some favorite places #31: It was near the Eight Mile Cemetary, a few miles south of the Columbia River, that we found these beautiful thistles and the biggest bumblebee I have ever seen. I wanted to pet him. But I didn't.

That is a HUMUNGOUS bee. I would have kept my distance - but admired him.

I've never seen a Bumblebee that big before. Impressive. Thistles are listed as a noxious weed, but they are a major source of food for pollinators and birds, especially Finches.

Un buen macro con un color que aporta mucha fuerza.
Al "bichito" no parece recomendable acariciarlo.
