Your photograph is the perfect symbol of the decline and death of family farms. Someone has painted a Ford 8N tractor red. This was one of the tractors that moved farming from horses to machinery. It was originally gray with red trim.

Yes Taken For Granted...we had a grey Ford 8N...I sold it and wish I could buy it back.

Mémoire! J'ai connu un fermier pour qui la seul concession à la modernité fut un tracteur rouge, du même type, un tracteur qu'il garda toute sa vie. Quand j'étais enfant, j'ai passé beaucoup de temps sur ce tracteur.
