This would all have been on the INSIDE of a mountain 50 years ago. You're looking at the inside of the Mt. St. Helens caldera. The north face of the mountain literally blew off in an eruption just over 45 years ago: May 18th, 1980. The mountain is endlessly fascinating.

Mind blowing... (and mountain blowing).

If one didn't know better, one would think that this was just a mountain range.

Esos muros de roca se alzan como una ola gigantesca

No se como sería hace 45 años, pero la actual vista es espectacular. Al menos en esta foto invernal.
Un abrazo.

When Mt. St. Helens blew up it left a jagged shell of the former mountain. There is still plenty of snow along this ridge.
