The trunk is split with half the tree hacked away, and nobody picks the apples, but this old apple tree has probably been in this pasture up the road for well over a hundred years. The apples and the leaves are always the last to fall this time of year. You can see the little red guys all over this tree. This tree is a survivor!

I am surprised this apple tree has survived a split trunk. May it continue to flourish in this pasture. There must not be any livestock in this pasture or the low hanging apples would be eaten.

La naturaleza es muy fuerte, Bill. Y los árboles, aunque los parta un rayo, se agarran a la tierra y rebrotan y siguen dando sus frutos como ese manzano. Solo tienen un enemigo mortal, la humanidad.
