It's an Amtrak passenger train with an engine at each end. It's one of the Spanish built "Talgo" trains that runs between Portland and Seattle. The cars are low to the ground and can "sway" to adjust for curves. They're allowed to go a bit faster than the more normal American cars. In Southwest Washington, we live fairly close to the mainline which primarily carries freight Union Pacific and BNSF freight trains.

Good shot Bill
A most unusual train. Passenger, I assume?

Wonderful shot! I can see how dry it is in your area.
I always enjoy your train images. This isn't as good as the foggy ones but it is still very good.
