The Bridge across the Columbia at The Dalles was opened in 1953. This picture is from the same spot as yesterday's picture of the dam-- You can see just a tiny part of it on the far right. The virtual trip to the dry side continues on the Washington side. By the way, those hills are much higher than they look.

This is a beautiful bridge. I love the way the approach is a curve. I almost always think back to pioneer days and think of having to get across the rivers in a wagon

At least those historic building are still standing. They must have been well constructed to have stood for so long. Lovely landscape.
