Fortresses and castles to be sure. I am betting there is a herd of goats just around the corner and the donkey is there for protection. I had goats and people told me to get a donkey to protect them.
What a great pair these are. Both of them are sure footed, but the goat can walk almost straight up a mountainside. Wonder were that path goes? It seems to end in a cliff.

They do indeed look like fortresses - and no doubt have been used that way by both people and animals.
